The following is what Nima Akbar Pour, one of the holders of the "Persian Weblogs Competition" , has stated in his interview with ISNA:

"The weblogs have greatly affected the matters of society and they have been always some steps ahead in the informational aspect. The society of weblogs have had interchange and transaction with the real public society: that means society affects the content of weblogs and weblogs influence society.

Though he considers internet to a limited class of society, he says weblogs as a part of internet have more specific addressers. For the young generation who are more encountered with the internet the news through web and weblogs have more influence.

Mentioning that this is the second year of the Persian weblogs competition, he asserted that After two years of weblogging among Iranians weblogs are more than mere web diaries now, being more specific and specialized.

He added that specialized weblogs are improving to specifically publish individuals. Therefore encouraging them through a competition will make their contents to improve better. "
